Busy Daycare Kids

With the warmer weather the past week or so, we've been able to enjoy some more outside time for both the little kids and the big kids. We've also been busy getting ready for Valentine's Day and working on some coloring and activities. This Friday we'll have our Valentine exchange and celebrate Valentine's day here at the house. I think the kids are all excited about bringing Valentine's for each other.

New Glasses and Spaghetti Slurping

It seems as thought I have several fun new pictures to add: both of the daycare and our girls, but that will have to mostly wait until naptime this afternoon. I did want to add a quick video of the spaghetti slurping that Emmy is so proud of now that she is missing her two top teeth! She has become a master slurper!

Also, Bria picked up her new glasses last week and is delighted to have transition lenses so that they turn into sunglasses for her when she is outside... a definite perk for her. She has faithfully worn her glasses every day since she was about 15 months old and now she's enjoying these new ones.

For Tabbi

Apparently I have been negligent in the amount of posts this week, and as I have been a wee bit on the busy side today with playing out in the snow with the kids this morning, lunch, baking cookies this afternoon, getting an activity together for early-out afterschool kids, doing the activity (which was WAY more leader-involved than I anticipated), serving snacks, getting ready to give Sophie a bottle..... well, you get the idea. So - Tabbi - here is my posting! Thought I'd share a great video from 2 summers ago of Emmy singing the DuckTales song....

Danny Oertli

I know a few of you have heard of Danny Oertli, but I am betting that most of you haven't. He is a Christian singer who Jon and I love to listen to. We heard him for the first time when we were counselors out at Camp ID-RA-HA-JE in Bailey, Colorado. Since then we've about worn out the cd we bought while out there! A few years ago he wrote a book on the love story of him and his wife who passed away called, "Mommy Paints the Sky". It's a great great story that you will be blessed by reading. If you enjoy vocals with guitar music, you will enjoy his music.

This song is called, "Fight For Me".

This song moves me to tears every time I hear it: "Dancing With Orphans"

This is a great song for moms! "If Ever You Worshipped"

You should check out his music if you are in the mood for someone new to listen to - music that reaches down and touches your soul.

Facebook Song

For all my friends and family who have Facebook accounts. My friend Sadie found this song on You Tube and I had to share it as well! Don't get me wrong - I thought Facebook was a blast.... but I got totally addicted within a day and found myself wanting to spend every spare moment on the facebook page.... for me, not a healthy choice! :) But I still love this song, so enjoy!

Fun with Family

We had a good time this weekend with my family celebrating my Grandma Wiuff's 90th birthday. She was so surprised to walk into the restaurant to find us all waiting there! Everyone in the family made it except for Megan's husband, Greg (he's back holding down the fort in North Carolina while they wait for their house to sell). It was so much fun to surprise her. And we all trooped up to her house after dinner for cake and for a chance to hang out some more. I really enjoyed the chance to chat with my cousins and their families because I hadn't seen them all since a year ago Christmas. We drove back home early on Sunday so we could make it back in time to watch the Superbowl - Mission Accomplished, unfortunately it was not a Kurt Warner win. :(

I think this is the first time we've gotten a picture of all the great-grandkids together with Grandma. What a crew!

Here are my parents, Connie & Larry and Alan with Grandma.

Tabbi and Tru enjoying Mickel's food! :)

The McDermott crew....

Mom and me
Emmy and Gramasaurus also had a chance to make some applesauce muffins together earlier in the day.

Emmy and Megan enjoying dinner. I had a great video of Emmy slurping spaghetti with her missing teeth, but I can't find it - so if I do, I'll get that posted too! :)
