This weekend it was cold and rainy so before the rain started the girls helped me pick apples. Then we spent the weekend peeling, slicing, coring, cutting, and freezing apples to use this winter. We did keep enough out to make some hot apple pie for Sunday - and it was great!

I'm not a big pie-eater, but that pie is beautiful. Did you use a cookie cutter on the crust? It's so pretty, so pretty, so pretty...
Thanks! Yes - I used a leaf cookie cutter and an acorn. . . I figured I might as well make it look nice in case it didn't taste good, but, surprise - it tasted good too! :) My cooking project qualifies me as "suzie q. homemaker" of the day - a phrase Noni and I use anytime we're feeling particularly "homemaker-y"
Can you package up some of that pie and send it out my way? I really need to get into cooking and baking. Now that the weather is getting cooler, I don't have to worry about making my apartment unbearably hot by turning on the oven. Send some good recipes my way!
